We're assuming you have the knowledge and skills needed to install these kits, and that you are aware of the risks and dangers associated with working on electrical circuits. Bally/Stern Solenoid Driver Kit #3
Some folks don't need the 0.002uF, 3KV capacitors for their AS-2518-22 or AS-2518-16 solenoid driver, and unless there are obvious signs of stress, or they're swollen or missing, you probably don't need to replace them. So here's another kit with plenty of driver transistors and the associated resistors and diodes, plus an additional 10 diodes for coils and such, but no capacitors. If you do need a few capacitors, then supersize this kit. Besides getting more transistors, diodes, and resistors, you'll get 9 of the .002uF 3KV capacitors too!

Bally/Stern AS-2877 Transformer (Working/Tested Used)

This is the power supply transformer found on most early (1977-1980) Bally and (1977-1982) Stern games.
Bally games of this era put the power supply in the head (lower right corner), while Stern put them in the lower cabinet.
The manual part number is Bally AS-2877, AS-2877-1
or Stern 16B-3.
It's often marked 122-125 on the top of the transformer itself. Each is clipped from a working used/tested
power supply
and you will need to solder to your power supply board. Please check your output voltages first!
Remove all fuses except rightmost 3A Slow Blow F6. Remove J1 and J3, leaving only J2.
Alternately, remove all fuses
and plugs
and hook a direct 110V line directly to
points 1 and 9 on the transformer, normally 1-2 and 9-11 are tied. Please note that if
you do not fuse this line, you may blow your circuit breaker or worse!
Test points on the transformer are all AC and as follows:
2-6: 49VAC
8-10: 173VAC
17-18: 7.3VAC
13-14: 7.8VAC
15-16: 12VAC
This will not fix issues on your power supply board!
The most common needs for this are if your transformer is missing, smoking, or DOA!!

This is the power supply transformer found on most later (1980 to 1985) Bally games with the power supply in the bottom of the cabinet.
This is NOT the proper transformer for games with a florescent tube like Eight Ball deluxe LE (I have one available, contact me)
The associated power supply board is an AS2518-54 with the matching Molex plugs.

Bally/Stern MPU Connector Kit

Includes all of the housings, header pins, crimp ends and keys used on a Bally or Stern MPU board. Games do not use all 78 pins so you'll have plenty of extras. When you have corroded header pins, chances are your housing pins are corroded too. If you've sanded the pins, that's a temporary solution and you need to replace your header pins. IDC (push in) type connectors are less reliable than these crimp type. If you squeeze the housings and your game works for awhile, or booting up is problematic, switches and coils working are intermittent, you likely have connector issues that this kit will fix. Some Sterns use the 32 pin (J5) connector for the sound board and you may need to replace that header also.
